Cremonese vs Napoli prediction 28.12.2025 | Serie A

After suffering relegation from Serie A in 2022/23, Cremonese needed two seasons to get back into the Italian top-flight division. However, this time, they aren't looking like a team that would get instantly relegated, far from it. After 16 rounds, they are in 11th place with 21 points - much closer to the European spots than the danger zone. Since 35-36 points have been enough to secure survival in recent seasons, the popular I Grigiorossi can be more than satisfied with how things are going. 

In the previous game against Lazio, defender Federico Ceccherini received a red card in the final moments and will be suspended. On the positive side, one of the team's best players, Martin Payero, served his one-game suspension and will be available. Moreover, Matteo Bianchetti and Michele Collocolo should remain sidelined with their injuries. 

Last season, Napoli won their fourth ever Scudetto and the second one in the past three years. This year, Napoli are doing a fine job as they are sitting in 3rd place with 31 points from 15 rounds - just two points away from the top spot. However, the reigning champs will have to fix their road performances, considering they have averaged around 1.2 points fewer there. Also, they barely secured the next phase of the Champions League, finishing the league phase in 23rd spot. So, even though they are in a good position in both competitions, there are some areas where they need to do much better.

After winning the Super Cup, coach Antonio Conte spoke to the media. He praised the team for their effort and for beating strong teams like Bologna and AC Milan. However, he noted they aren't fully ready to dominate Serie A and have a lot of work ahead of them.
