Chelsea vs Sunderland prediction 25.10.2025 | Premier League

Chelsea overcame that disastrous 2022/23 season and are slowly improving. Last year, they finally secured a top-four spot, which secured them the Champions League. Besides their good PL performance, the Blues also won the Conference League. This year, after some ups and downs, the Blues are in excellent form, having won four in a row - two in the PL and two in the Champions League. Right now, Chelsea are sitting in fifth place in the PL with 14 points after eight rounds - five points away from the top spot. 

In the previous PL game against Nottingham, Malo Gusto received a red card and will miss the upcoming game vs Sunderland. Besides suspended Gusto, the team will miss several important players due to injuries - Cole Palmer, Liam Delap, Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill, and Dario Essugo. Meanwhile, Mykhailo Mudryk will remain suspended due to a doping ban. 

After eight years spent in the Championship and League One, Sunderland finally returned to the Premier League. Despite having to secure promotion from the Playoffs, the popular Black Cats are having an amazing start in the PL. They are in 7th place, but on a level with points with two other teams above them - Tottenham and Chelsea. So, an overall amazing start for the Black Cats. However, we have to admit they have had a fairly favorable schedule. 

After a 2:0 win over Wolves, coach Régis Le Bris spoke to the media. He was satisfied with the result, saying it was an important win. The coach was also satisfied with how the players reacted after losing the last game to Manchester United. "We started well and dominated possession. We generated momentum and chances. My only regret was that we didn't score the second goal until late," the coach added.
