After securing a place in the FA Cup 1/16 Finals with a win over Charlton, and suffering a first-leg defeat to Arsenal in the EFL Cup semi-finals, Chelsea shifts their focus to the Premier League. The Blues will host Brentford, which also booked their spot in the FA Cup 1/16 Finals last week. The two sides head into this match in very different form: Chelsea are without a win in their previous five Premier League games, while Brentford are looking to extend their unbeaten league run to six matches.
Let's break down the game and find the best possible bet for the Premier League.

In the first h2h game this season, in September 2025, we saw an exciting 2:2 draw. The Blues were a better team and probably deserved all three points, but a goal from Carvalho in the stoppage time denied them the victory. Looking further back, over the past ten h2h games, each team secured three victories.
Regarding the number of goals, four out of the past ten h2h games ended with three or more goals, while both teams scored in the same number of games (four).
Chelsea team overview
By finishing fourth in the Premier League, winning the Conference League last season, and winning the FIFA Club World Cup, the Blues proved they are on the rise. They also started this season very well and were in the top five spots for most of the year. However, after failing to win in the last five Premier League games, they dropped to eighth place with 31 points in 21 rounds. That eventually led the club to sack coach Enzo Maresca and appoint a new coach, Liam Rosenior. They are still only four points away from the desired fourth place and the Champions League spots, but they have to start winning games as soon as possible.
After a 3:2 loss in the EFL Cup Semi-Finals against Arsenal, coach Liam Rosenior spoke to the media. The coach wasn't too unhappy, saying he was encouraged by the players' engagement and commitment and that they gave everything despite the defeat. The coach added that this game is only the first half of the duel.

Brentford team overview
Brentford are having a magnificent season, by far their best in the English top flight. During the season, they had some ups and downs, but as the season progressed, they improved. Now, they sit in fifth place with 33 points in 21 rounds - just two points behind fourth-placed Liverpool. At the moment, they are the hottest team in the Premier League, but we have to acknowledge that they had a bit of an easier schedule, mostly facing teams from the lower part of the league's table.
After a 2:0 over Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup 1/32 Finals, coach Keith Andrews spoke to the media. He praised his players for the right attitude going into games and not underestimating their opponent. The coach also praised the youngsters and singled out Romelle Donovan, saying he was really good and played with so much enthusiasm.

Prediction
Due to poor defensive performances, Chelsea have been excellent for this type of bet lately as they went over 2.5 goals in seven out of the last eight games - 87.5%. Interestingly, after they changed coaches, the Blues played two high-scoring cup games, averaging 5.5 goals per game!
Meanwhile, Brentford have been amazing offensively, winning five out of six games and scoring 15 goals - 2.5 per game. We expect them to continue their good form against out-of-form Chelsea, which could eventually lead to a high-scoring game.
The first h2h game ended in a 2:2 draw, and three out of the past three h2h meetings went over 2.5 goals. Considering the trend in previous h2h games and all the above, an over 2.5 goals bet seems the best option, with both teams likely to score.
4 Reasons why we should see three or more goals
- Chelsea went over 2.5 goals in seven out of the past eight games
- We saw 5.5 goals in Chelsea's first two games under the new coach
- Brentford went over the mentioned line in the past two PL games
- Three out of the past four h2h games ended with three or more goals
Main prediction Chelsea - Brentford
Over 2.5 goals
