Charlton vs QPR prediction 06.02.2026 | Championship

Charlton secured promotion from League One, having won the Playoffs. This season, their goal is to survive, and in the first part of the season, they did great, spending the first third of the season around the playoff spots! However, since early November, their performances declined massively. Even though they had some nice wins lately against Sheffield Utd and Leicester (in the previous round), the only reason they secured those wins was that the opposing teams received two and one red cards early in those matches. Now, they are in 18th with 35 points - just three points away from the danger zone, although with one game played less. 

After a 2:0 win over Leicester, coach Nathan Jones spoke to the media. He was very pleased with a win and was especially satisfied with their first half. The coach noted Miles Leaburn had to leave the field after the first half due to a shoulder injury. The striker will most likely be sidelined for the QPR game, but he hasn't been too great this season, and his absence might not be such a massive problem. 

QPR are playing their 11th consecutive season in the Championship since they were relegated from the Premier League in the 2014/15 season. During those 11 seasons, the Rangers were mostly a mid-table team, failing to secure a playoff berth in each season. This season, QPR have been solid, constantly floating a few points behind the playoff spots. At the moment, they are four points away from the Playoffs, but they have to start winning more points on the road, as they haven't won in their past six league games. This game against struggling Charlton could be the perfect opportunity. 

In the previous game against Coventry, the team won 2:1, but lost two important players due to injuries - midfielders Karamoko Dembele and Isaac Hayden. Those are big absences considering the Rovers already have several injured players - Justin Obikwu, Jonathan Varane, Kwame Poku, Ziyad Larkeche, Jake Clarke-Salter, Ilias Chair, and Rumarn Burrell.
