Castellon vs Mirandes prediction 15.12.2025 | La Liga 2

Castellon returned to La Liga 2 last season and, as expected, spent much of the campaign battling near the relegation zone. Most pundits predicted a similar struggle this year, but Pablo Hernandez's side have exceeded expectations. Castellon currently sits in one of the playoff positions, and while promotion may be a step too far, relegation no longer appears to be a real concern.

Hernandez's team is in excellent form as they have won four games in a row. In the most recent outing, Castellon won 3-1 on the road against Deportivo La Coruna. The home side had the lead at halftime, but the guests completely outplayed them in the second half and secured another victory.

Castellon's head coach, Pablo Hernandez, was very pleased with the victory against Mirandes. He said, "I'm very happy with the win, with the match we played, and above all with the team spirit we showed against a good opponent. We worked on defensive marking and pressing. We knew we had to close down the spaces very well to prevent them from switching play when they draw pressure."

Castellon could have the whole squad available on Monday against Mirandes. Serpeta and Adam Jakobsen are injured, but even they could recover on time.

Last season was the best for Mirandes in the club's history. They played in the promotion playoff final, but eventually lost after extra time against Oviedo. The current campaign is not even close to as good as Mirandes are in the relegation zone with two points fewer than safety. Jesus Galvan's team haven't been playing well lately, winning only one of the previous five games in all competitions. In the last match, Mirandes played 0-0 on the road against Las Palmas. The home side played most of the game with ten players, so the guests had a good opportunity to take all three points, but they again lacked quality in attack.

Mirandes didn't use the advantage in Las Palmas, but the head coach, Jesus Galvan, was still satisfied. He commented, "It depends on how you look at it, whether you see the glass as half full or half empty. If someone had told us before coming here that we were going to draw 0-0 against a team like Las Palmas, I think many of us would have signed up for that, but we have to be ambitious and also recognize that we lacked quality in the final third and needed to be more clinical. I leave satisfied with the performance, the commitment, and the attitude we showed."

Mirandes will be without Iker Cordoba, Pablo Lopez, Hugo Novoa Ramos, and Sergio Postigo on Monday in Castellon de la Plana.
