Liverpool are currently on a five-game winning streak in the recent h2h games, while covering the -1.5 AH spread on four occasions. Looking further back, the Reds won nine out of the last 11 matches, while Burnley won once.
Regarding the number of goals, five of the last ten went over 2.5 goals, and only three over 3.5 goals. Meanwhile, both teams scored on four out of the previous ten.
Burnley team overview
Burnley went between the Premier League and the Championship in the last few seasons. Last year, they secured promotion and are looking only to survive this season. However, the bookies do not trust in the popular Clarets as they offer odds of around 1.3 to 1.35 to get relegated. This year, Burnley won three points in the first three rounds and are in 14th place.
After a 3:2 loss against Manchester United, coach Scott Parker spoke to the media. He had mixed emotions, as he was disappointed with the result, but also proud of the team's effort. The coach was also gutted because a last-minute VAR decision cost them the point.

Liverpool team overview
Liverpool managed to win the title last year in their first season under coach Arne Slot. That is something Jurgen Klopp did just once in nine seasons! During the offseason, the Reds have gotten better. Despite losing the Community Shield, when it mattered the most, in the PL, they started playing great. The Reds won all three league games and are the only team in the PL with a 100% win rate thus far.
During the international, the Reds acquired Isak Alexander for 145 million euros. With that addition, they are looking absolutely fantastic and we expect a lot from them.
After a 1:0 win over Arsenal, coach Arne Slot spoke to the media. He was happy with a win, but said they weren't perfect and will look to limit mistakes in the upcoming games. The coach also praised Dominik Szoboszlai, whom he moved to a right full-back position, saying he understands what a Liverpool player should look like.

Prediction
Burnley went over 2.5 goals in three out of four games this season - 75%. Offensively, they did a pretty good job, scoring two goals per game in the last three games, and it is fair to expect they will score once against Liverpool as well.
Liverpool also played mostly high-scoring games, as we saw three or more goals in three out of four matches across the competition. The average number of goals in their games right now is 4.0! We firmly believe they are capable of scoring a couple or more goals against anyone in the league, but we are not totally sold on their defense, at least for now. Yes, they had a clean sheet vs Arsenal in the last match, but allowed two goals per game in the previous three games.
In the previous h2h game, Liverpool won 3:1, and we could easily see a similar result this time. Considering all the above, we firmly believe an over 2.5 goals bet is the safest option for this Premier League tie.
4 Reasons why we should see three or more goals
- Both teams went over 2.5 goals in three out of four games this season
- Burnley scored two goals per game in the first two home games
- Liverpool scored ten goals in the first four games - 2.5 per game
- The last h2h game ended as a 3:1 win for the Reds
Main prediction Burnley - Liverpool
Over 2.5 goals
