With the exception of the 2023/24 season, when they finished 3rd, Brest have consistently been in the lower part of the league table in the previous few years. This year, the Pirates are doing an OK job and are a comfortable ten points away from the danger zone as they sit in 12th place with 27 points. Still, moving up to the European spots seems very unlikely, especially given their poor road record. There, they average only 0.82, compared to 1.64 ppg at home. 

After a 1:1 draw with Lille, coach Éric Roy spoke to the media. He said it was a good point, but noted they suffered a lot in the first period. The coach added that they did better in the second half, praising the players' reaction, but also said they should have done better in transition. 

Marseille are having a very bad season by their standards. The Olympians have suffered elimination from the Champions League and are sitting in 4th place in Ligue 1 with only 40 points from 22 rounds. Due to CL elimination and a heavy defeat to PSG on February 8th, the club decided to let go of coach Roberto De Zerbi. In the weeks leading up to his dismissal, De Zerbi had already offered his resignation due to the poor run of results, but was initially rejected by the board. However, the situation became unfixable, and Marseille moved to appoint Jacques Abardonado as caretaker manager.

In the first game under coach Jacques Abardonado, Marseille drew 2:2 with Strasbourg. After the game, the coach said they keep making the same mistakes, allowing goals after leading comfortably. The coach admitted they are struggling a lot, and giving up late goals definitely isn't helping.
