Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Romania prediction 15.11.2025 | World Cup qualifications

Since independence from Yugoslavia, Bosnia and Herzegovina have played in only one major tournament, at the World Cup 2014. Sergej Barbarez's team is currently second in the table, two points behind the group leader, Austria, and they need a victory on Saturday night to stay in contention for the direct ticket to the World Cup. 

Although Bosnia and Herzegovina had a hot start to the World Cup qualifications, Barbarez's team struggled lately, winning only two of the last five matches, including friendlies. In their most recent outing, Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Malta 4-1. 

Bosnia and Herzegovina have some problems with missing players. Adrian Leon Barisic, Ermedin Demirovic, Haris Hajradinovic, and Stjepan Radeljic are unavailable for the November games. Also, Ivan Sunjic and Nihad Mujakic are suspended for the match against Romania. 

Romania haven't played at the World Cup since 1998, and it would be a big disappointment if the team misses another tournament. Mircea Lucescu's team didn't play in most of the qualifications, but they still have a chance for first place in the group. However, it is much more realistic for Romania to continue qualifications in the playoffs. 

Romania played well recently, as they are unbeaten in the last three matches. In the most recent outing, Romania won 1-0 at home against Austria. The teams together had xG of only 0.59, but Lucescu's team found a net and continued to dream about the World Cup. 

Romania have problems with missing players, too. Andrei Burca got another yellow card in the previous round and will sit out the game on Saturday. Also, another defender, Mihai Popescu, suffered a knee injury and will not play anymore this season. The goalkeeper Ionut Radu had some medical problems recently, too, but he recovered and should be the choice for Saturday.
