Borussia Dortmund return to Champions League action when they take on an out-of-form Athletic Club on Wednesday.
The German hosts have enjoyed a strong start to their season, and will be confident of claiming the points against a Bilbao side that has struggled badly in front of goal in recent weeks.
Set for their first-ever competitive meeting, Dortmund come into this fixture as odds-on-favourites to claim a seventh successive home victory.

Borussia Dortmund and Athletic Club will meet for the third time this week. Athletic Club claimed friendly victories in both 2016 and 2021.
Borussia Dortmund team overview
Borussia Dortmund maintained their strong start to the season with a comfortable 2:0 win on the road at Mainz last weekend. First-half goals from Daniel Svensson and Karim Adeyemi secured a straight-forward win for Niko Kovac´s side.
A fine run of form has seen the Germans remain unbeaten in their first seven games of the season, with five victories picked up in that run.
BVB began their Champions League campaign with a thrilling 4:4 draw against Juventus in Turin earlier this month, but will be confident of picking up the points this week. Dortmund won each of their last six home matches, while they claimed victories in four of their last six UCL games at Signal Iduna Park.
Head coach Kovac is unable to call on four first-team players this week. Emre Can, Julien Duranville, and Niklas Süle remain sidelined with various injury concerns.

Athletic Club team overview
Athletic Club make the trip to Germany in dismal form after another disappointing La Liga defeat against Villarreal last weekend. Alberto Moreno´s late strike secured a 1:0 win for the Yellow Submarine.
After a bright start to the season which saw them win each of their first three league games, the Basque side have now lost five of their last six matches, while failing to score in all five defeats. Bilbao scored just one goal in those six matches, in a 1:1 draw with Girona.
Head coach Ernesto Valverde could make some alterations to his selection after last weekend´s frustrating defeat against Villarreal. Beñat Prados and Unai Egiluz are the only confirmed injury absentees for the visitors.

Prediction
An in-form Dortmund should have too much quality for a goal-shy Bilbao on Wednesday. A home win is my best bet at Signal Iduna Park.
Three Reasons Why We Expect Borussia Dortmund to Win
- Borussia Dortmund won 5 of their last 7 matches
- Borussia Dortmund won 4 of their last 6 home matches (Champions League)
- Athletic Club lost 5 of their last 6 matches
