Bologna vs AS Roma prediction 12.03.2026 | Europa League

Bologna were on a really good five-game winning streak, but stopped it with an unexpected 2:1 loss to Hellas Verona. That loss affected their hopes of European Qualifiers next season as they are now 11 points away from the desired 6th place and seven away from 7th. Given they were eliminated from Coppa Italia by Lazio in mid-February, maybe their best chance to secure Europe next season is by winning the Europa League. Still, the bookies aren't too convinced of their chances, considering them only the eighth-favorite for the title with the odds between 13 and 19. 

After a 2:1 loss against Hellas Verona, coach Vincenzo Italiano spoke to the media. He was very frustrated with a loss, saying they created many chances but failed to score. The coach pointed out that they could have scored multiple goals but missed them, and then eventually were punished on counterattacks. 

For the upcoming match, the team could be without Martin Vitik, who suffered an injury in the previous game against Verona. Additionally, Juan Miranda and Torbjørn Heggem should remain sidelined with their injuries.

AS Roma also took a hit to their European plans for next season, losing 2:1 to Genoa, led by former Roma legend Daniele De Rossi. The Wolves are pushed to fifth place but are still on level with points with 4th-placed Como. However, their form is worrisome, having won just two of the past eight games and just two of the past six Serie A matches. They also had problems on the road recently, and it will be interesting to see if they can secure a positive result against Bologna in the first leg. 

After a 2:1 loss to Genoa, coach Gian Piero Gasperini spoke to the media. He said they approached the game well and was generally pleased with the performance, despite losing the match. When asked about dropping from the top four, the coach responded: "Anyone who's worried stays home… here we are the protagonists."

Central defender Gianluca Mancini received a red card in the previous Europa League game and will serve his suspension against Bologna. The Wolves will also have massive problems with injuries, especially up front, as they could miss up to four players - Matias Soule, Paulo Dybala, Evan Ferguson, and Artem Dovbyk, along with another central defender, Mario Hermoso.
