Strasbourg sit seventh in Ligue 1 with 30 points, three points ahead of Monaco, in 10th. What’s more important, Monaco have huge squad problems. Centre-backs Eric Dier, Wout Faes, Christian Mawissa and Mohammed Salisu are all injured. Goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky is also sidelined, along with midfielders Paul Pogba, Pape Cabral and Takumi Minamino. Moreover, Ansu Fati and Folarin Balogun suffered knocks over the weekend and are doubtful.
With so many absentees and a very busy schedule, fatigue will come into play for Monaco sooner rather than later. Strasbourg were on an 8-match unbeaten streak before losing 2-1 to PSG on Sunday. While their striker, Joaquin Panichelli, to score anytime at 2.20 looks decent, we’ll opt for a safer choice.
