The World Cup Qualifiers are slowly coming to an end. However, the top spot and the World Cup appearance is still undecided. However, Austria needs only one point from the match, while Bosnia and Herzegovina needs a win.

Friendly International
In the previous h2h game in Bosnia in September, Austria won 2:1. Still, it was a very close game, with a draw possibly being the most realistic result. Looking further back, these teams met six times, with Austria winning twice and Bosnia and Herzegovina winning once.
When it comes to the number of goals, just once (the last one) finished with three or more goals. Meanwhile, both teams scored in three out of those six games.
Austria team overview
Despite being a regular participant in EUROS, Austria have had problems securing the World Cup, failing to appear in the tournament since 1998. However, they are in an excellent position in these Qualifiers as they are sitting in the top spot with 18 points from seven matches. Yet, we have to mention they had a pretty easy group, and it is not a surprise they are in such a good position. Still, despite winning six out of seven games in the Qualifiers, a loss would put them in second place.
After a 2:0 win over Cyprus in the previous game, coach Ralf Rangnick spoke to the media. He said it was a very difficult game and acknowledged that Cyprus is not an easy opponent. The coach also praised Marko Arnautovic, saying he radiates such positive energy when he is fit and healthy and is an extremely valuable player for them.
Central defender David Alaba served his one-game suspension against Cyprus and will be available for the upcoming game. However, it will be interesting to see whether he will start considering that he has had foot issues for the past month.

Bosnia and Herzegovina team overview
After a shaky start under coach Sergej Barbarez in the UEFA Nations League A in 2024, Bosnia and Herzegovina are doing a great job this year in the World Cup Qualifiers. They are one win away from securing their second-ever World Cup appearance. Right now, they are in second place with 16 points from seven rounds and cannot drop below that second place regardless of the result in the last game.
Unfortunately, Bosnia and Herzegovina will have several important absences. Haris Hajradinović and Ermedin Demirovic are injured, while Nikola Katic, Amar Dedic, and Dzenis Burnic received their second yellow cards against Romania in the Qualifiers and will serve one-game suspensions.
