Atlètic Lleida vs Espanyol prediction 30.10.2025 | Copa del Rey

Atletic Lleida are a team that changed their name several times during their existence. In 2020/21, they changed their name again and played in the fifth and sixth tiers of Spanish football for five seasons. Last year, they managed to secure promotion to the fourth tier, but by purchasing the vacant spot, not by winning it in the playoffs. This season, their goal is to survive, but that is not going according to plan as they are currently in a relegation spot. They sit in 14th place in Segunda RFEF Group 3, with eight points - two points away from the safe zone. 

In the last six seasons, Espanyol have been among the worst teams in La Liga, even spending two seasons in La Liga during that period. Last season, they finished 14th, but that 14th place looks a lot better than it actually is, as they finished only two points away from the danger zone. But this season, the popular Parakeets are playing amazing football and sit in fifth place with 18 points - only one point away from the Champions League spots! To be fair, we do not expect them to stay there, but the Parakeets can surely be satisfied with what they've done thus far. 

Left full-back, Carlos Romero, suffered an injury in the previous game against Elche and had to leave the field 15 minutes before the end of the game. He will most likely be out for the upcoming game(s). However, the coach Manolo González will most likely heavily rotate the squad anyway and probably give some backup players more minutes.
