Aston Villa come into Sunday's Premier League fixture with plenty of confidence after a well-deserved 2:1 win against Tottenham in the FA Cup last weekend. First-half goals from Emiliano Buendia and Morgan Rogers secured a place in the fourth round for Unai Emery's impressive side.

The Villains have enjoyed a superb run of form this season. Villa won 13 and lost only one of their last 15 matches across all competitions. Particularly strong at Villa Park, Emery's side won eight and lost just one of ten home Premier League games this season. 

The hosts should be confident of claiming another high-scoring win this weekend. The Villains won 17 of their last 21 games, while over 2.5 goals were scored in each of their last five encounters in Birmingham.

Head coach Emery has half-a-dozen injury issues this weekend. Ross Barkley, Tyrone Mings and Harvey Elliott are ruled out, while Amadou Onana, and Boubacar Kamara are listed as doubtful.

Everton return to Premier League business after a disappointing defeat against Sunderland in the FA Cup last weekend. Fortunate to take the tie the distance following a 1:1 draw,  the Toffees eventually collapsed to a 3:0 defeat via spot kicks. 

David Moyes's side have gone off the boil in recent weeks. Everton failed to win six of their last seven games, including a 4:2 defeat against Brentford earlier this month. The Toffees now sit 12th in the Premier League, 14 points behind third-placed Aston Villa. 

Goals can usually be expected when these sides meet at Villa Park. Over 2.5 goals were scored in each of their last five encounters in Birmingham 

Everton boss Moyes has a long list of expected absentees for the trip to Birmingham. Séamus Coleman, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Tim Iroegbunam are ruled out, Michael Keane is suspended, while Jarrad Branthwaite, Martin Sherif and Carlos Alcaraz are doubtful; Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye are unavailable due to AFCON duty.
