Hungary

Armenia
WC Qualification Europe
These teams already met in these Qualifiers, with Hungary winning 2:0 at home. The Hungarians were a much better team and deservedly won that match. They had 1.73 vs 0.46 xG and 67% vs 33% ball possession. According to stats, Armenia haven't had a single "big" chance in this game.
Before the previous game, these teams had only met in a friendly match in 2004. The Hungarians won 2:0 in that match as well.
Armenia team overview
Armenia are ranked 105 on the FIFA World Ranking List and are a team that has never reached the World Cup or even the EURO. Before the World Cup Qualifiers, they appointed the new head coach, Eghishe Melikyan, to help them secure their first-ever WC appearance. Thus far, after four rounds, they are in last place with three points. Even though they haven't been great, a potential win over Hungary could easily put them in the 2nd place.
For this game against Hungary, the team will be without Tigran Barseghyan, who received a red card in the previous match vs Ireland. The 32-year-old winger started in all World Cup Qualifier games, and his absence will surely be a factor. Additionally, another important midfielder, Ugochukwu Iwu, is out with an injury.

Hungary team overview
Hungary have failed to secure a World Cup appearance since 1986 and are desperate to finally reach it. However, they did pretty well in the EURO Qualifiers, reaching the main phase of the tournament on the previous three occasions. Their progress have been solid lately, considering they moved from the UEFA Nations League C to A. Unfortunately, before the start of these Qualifiers, the popular Magyars dropped to League B.
In the WC Qualifiers, they had some ups and downs, but are currently in second place with five points. Since Portugal is already five points away, their goal has to be to stay in that second place.
Before the Armenia game, coach Marco Rossi spoke to the media. He said there is no reason to change things drastically because the team has played well thus far. "In Armenia, we must do everything to win - then we'll see where we stand before the final round. But we also want to win at home against Ireland," the coach added.

Prediction
Armenia lost three out of four games in these Qualifiers. Looking further back, Armenia lost six out of the last eight games across the competitions - 75%.
Meanwhile, Hungary lost just once in the last five games across the competitions. Their only loss was a close one against one of the best NTs in the World - Portugal. That time, Hungary lost 3:2 while conceding a goal very late - 86th minute. So, with a little more luck, they could be on a five-game unbeaten run.
Additionally, Hungary already won 2:0 vs Armenia in these Qualifiers. Considering all the above, we believe the Mayars will secure another victory and move closer to the World Cup Playoffs.
3 Reasons why Hungary should win
- Armenia lost three out of four WC Qualifiers
- Hungary lost just vs Portugal in the past five games across the competitions
- Hungary won 2:0 in the previous h2h game in October
