The team from Jeddah wants to repeat success, but Al Hilal and a few other teams are ready to compete for the most precious trophy in national football. Al Ittihad opened the season with nine points in the first four matches, and are currently three points behind Al Nassr. Al-Nimr, how the fans often call their team, have had some problems lately as they have lost the last two games. In the previous outing, they lost 1-0 at home in the AFC Champions League against Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai. The home team disappointed in that match, as the guests had seven shots on the goal more and significantly better xG stats. 

Poor performances in the last few weeks cost Laurent Blanc the job. At his place came Sergio Conceicao, who led AC Milan last season. 

Al Ittihad's goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic suffered an injury during training camp during the international break. However, it seems that the injury is not worrisome and that Rajkovic will play against Al Fayha on Friday night.
