Wolves come into Friday's Premier League contest after a painful 1:0 defeat at Crystal Palace last weekend. Ladislav Krejčí saw red in the second period before Evann Guessand's 90-minute strike secured a vital victory for the Eagles.

Despite an improved run of form under Rob Edwards, the Black and Golds remain destined for a return to the Championship next season. Wolves sit at the bottom of the Premier League, with just ten points on the board. 

At home, Edwards' side have struggled badly, although they did claim a remarkable 2:2 comeback draw against EPL leaders Arsenal in their most recent match at Molineux. Wolves lost ten of 13 previous home Premier League fixtures.

Head coach Edwards has just two absentees this week. Ladislav Krejčí is suspended while Hee-Chan Hwang is expected to remain unavailable.

Aston Villa make the trip to Molineux after a frustrating 1:1 draw against Leeds last weekend. January recruit Tammy Abraham stepped off the bench to rescue a point for the Villains.

Unai Emery's side have not been at their best in recent weeks, with just one win picked up in their last five matches. However, they remain strong on the road, with six wins and only three defeats recorded from 13 away PL matches this season.

A lack of penetration in the final third has lead to several low-scoring outcomes in recent fixtures. Each of the Villains last seven EPL matches finished with under 2.5 goals scored. Six of seven previous meetings between these sides also saw fewer than three goals. 

Head coach Emery has five injury issues this weekend. John McGinn, Youri Tielemans and Boubacar Kamara are ruled out, while Alysson and Harvey Elliott remain doubts for this fixture.
