Last year, Wolfsburg finished 12th in the Bundesliga, and this season, they were in a position for a much better finish. For most of the season, they floated around seventh place and were super close to European spots. Unfortunately for them, the last part of the season was a pure disaster after they failed to win over the previous eight games and dropped significantly on the league's table. Now, two rounds before the end of the season, they are in 12th place with 39 points and cannot move significantly up or down.

Hoffenheim are playing their worst season in almost a decade. A team that mostly battled for European spots in recent years came pretty close to the danger zone. From the very start of the season, the team from Sinsheim village was mostly in 15th or 16th place. Luckily, the bottom three teams have been really bad, and Hoffenheim will most likely survive. With two rounds to go, they have a five-point advantage over Heidenheim, and in order to drop down, they need to lose both matches and Heidenheim to win both.

Wolfsburg are in terrible form, having won just two points in the last eight games! Their defense totally collapsed in the recent five matches, allowing two or more goals on four occasions. Because of that bad defense, they pretty constantly went over 2.5 goals recently.

Meanwhile, Hoffenheim have been superb for this type of bet, with four of the last five games ending with three or more goals and an average of 4.8 goals per game. Away from home, they have had massive problems defensively, allowing three or more goals in the previous three games against Borussia M'Gladbach, Freiburg, and RB Leipzig. So, we do not trust them defensively, even against struggling Wolfsburg.
