The two English sides have faced each other 13 times since 2020, with all but two of those matches being in the Premier League. Spurs have the slight edge in this period, with five wins and four draws, while West Ham registered four wins. The average number of goals per game during this period was 2.9, suggesting a high level of entertainment.
West Ham United team overview
West Ham United's start to the 2025–26 campaign is one they would not want to be reminded of. The Hammers suffered a 3-0 defeat to newly promoted side Sunderland on Match Day 1, and, as if that was not enough, they conceded five goals and scored just one in the London derby against Chelsea on Match Day 2.
Days later, Graham Potter’s side were eliminated by Wolves in the second round of the English League Cup, adding to their misfortunes. There was a reaction just before the international break though as West Ham United picked up a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
Having also avoided defeat in all of their last five home games against Spurs — with two wins and three draws — they will be feeling confident about Saturday’s game.
Crysencio Summerville and Luis Guilherme are ruled out with injuries and Niclas Füllkrug is doubtful after the former Dortmund forward left the Germany squad early due to a calf problem.

Tottenham Hotspur team overview
Tottenham's board decided to part ways with Ange Postecoglou despite the 60-year-old leading the club to their first trophy in 17 years by beating Manchester United 1:0 in the Europa League final earlier this year.
The newly appointed Thomas Frank has shown glimpses of great potential, especially in the Super Cup final against PSG and in the 2-0 win over Man City in the Premier League on Match Day 2 of the new campaign.
However, the 1:0 home defeat to Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where they registered just one shot on goal, left a lot to be desired. Richarlison has impressed in the number 9 position so far this season, boasting two goals, and he may well be preferred over Solanke again.
James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski remain sidelined with injuries for the Lilywhites, as do Radu Drăgușin, Dane Scarlett and Kota Takai.

Prediction
While West Ham have won only one of their four competitive games so far this season, they have an excellent record against Spurs at the London Stadium, which could be crucial on Saturday. The Lilywhites have kept two clean sheets so far this season, but failed to do so in any of their last five meetings with the Hammers, with both teams scoring in each of those games. I am therefore expecting a close game that could end in a 1–1 draw.
Three reasons we expect both teams to score in this game
- Tottenham finished just one of their last eight away league games without conceding.
- West Ham kept a clean sheet in just 2 of their last 15 competitive matches.
- Both teams scored in all the last five meetings between West Ham and Tottenham.
