Vejle vs Fredericia prediction 09.02.2026 | Superliga

Vejle have another stressful season. After barely avoiding relegation last year, they are currently the worst team in the Superliga with only 13 points from 18 league matches and will need significantly better results over the next few months to remain among the best Danish teams. Friendlies De Røde had during January and February don't offer much optimism either, as they won only one of six matches. In the most recent test, Vejle lost 3-0 against Aarhus Fremad. 

Vejle didn't improve their squad significantly during the winter transfer window. Their only addition worth mentioning is center-back Luka Latsabidze, who came on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk. Latsabidze spent the last six months in Dinamo Tbilisi. Vejle also signed 18-year-old Ghanaian Ransford Amoo, but he should only be signing for the future. 

Vejle have some problems with missing players. They will be without Mikkel Duelund, Lundrim Hetemi, and Damian van Bruggen, while Tobias Lauritsen and Andrew Hjulsager are questionable. 

The 2025/26 season is Fredericia's first in the Danish top flight. However, they will likely quickly return to 1. Division, as Michael Hansen's team is the second-worst in the competition with 14 points in 18 matches. Still, recent weeks have offered some encouragement. Fredericia went unbeaten in six friendly matches, recording two wins and four draws, results that helped restore some confidence within the squad. In the previous game, Fredericia won 3-0 on the road against Horsens. 

Fredericia were active in the transfer market in the previous weeks. They signed goalkeeper Valdemar Birkso (who came from Fredrikstad) and forwards Friday Etim (Midtjylland) and Elias Hansborg (Odense). Birkso and Etim should play important roles on the team, while Hansborg will likely add depth to Fredericia. 

Unfortunately, Valdemar Birkso is injured and will not debut on Monday. In his absence, Etienne Green will start. Patrick Egelund is another player who could miss the trip to Vejle.
