United Arab Emirates U23 vs Guam U23 prediction 03.09.2025 | AFC Asian Cup U23 qualification

The United Arab Emirates U23 are playing almost regularly at the continental championship, but have never exceeded the quarterfinals. The United Araba Emirates U23 are the hosts for the upcoming qualifications and have a good chance to qualify for the tournament that will be played next year. 

The United Arab Emirates U23 played in the 2025 WAFF Championship U23, but Bahrain and Saudi Arabia beat them before they won 3-0 against Lebanon U23. In the only game after that, the United Arab Emirates U23 won 2-1 in a friendly against Thailand U23. 

The United Arab Emirates U23 have a few interesting players who could shake up the national football in the coming years. The left-back Richard Akonnor and goalkeeper Hamad Al-Meqbaali started both games for Al-Jazira and Shabab Al-Ahli in the domestic league and are certainly names to follow. Another interesting player is Junior Ndiaye, who already scored his first goal for Montpellier in Ligue 2 this season. If those three players develop as they should, the United Arab Emirates' football will look much different. 

Guam U23 entered the Asian Cup U23 qualifications for the first time in 2023, but they won only one point and failed to qualify for the main tournament. Guam U23 were heavily beaten by Vietnam U23 and Yemen U23 (6-0 and 5-1), but they snatched their first point against Singapore U23 (1-1). Guam U23 are not much better right now, but they could compete with Hong Kong U23 for the third spot in the qualification group. Interestingly, Guam U23 didn't have any official matches this year. 

Guam U23 have a limited pool of talent, and it is hard to expect much from them. However, they have a few players in the USA college system and could get a few interesting players for their level in the future. The best player in the squad is the right-back and captain Leon Morimoto, who played for Loyola, a club from the Philippines, last season. Forward James Gomes from Claremont McKenna College is another who could grow into a solid player.
