Udinese vs Inter prediction 17.01.2026 | Serie A

Udinese come into Saturday's Serie A contest after a frustrating 2:2 draw against struggling Pisa last weekend. Despite scoring twice in the first period, Kosta Runjaic's side were forced to settle for a point at Bluenergy Stadium. 

I Bianconeri have struggled to find much consistency in their recent performances. Udinese lost four and won just two of their last eight Serie A fixtures. The hosts remain tenth in the division, 20 points behind Inter. 

A high-scoring Serie A contest could be on the cards in Udine this weekend. All but one of the last nine meetings between these sides finished with over 2.5 goals scored. Udinese have seen the same outcome in three of their last five fixtures.  

Head coach Runjaic has a couple of expected absentees this weekend. Adam Buksa and Vakoun Bayo are both set to miss out for the home side.

Inter make the trip to Blueenergy Stadium after a narrow 1:0 win against Lecce earlier this week. A late goal from Francesco Pio Esposito maintained winning form for Cristian Chivu's side. 

The Serie A leaders have enjoyed an excellent run of form in recent weeks, securing seven victories from their last eight league fixtures. Inter now lead city rivals AC Milan by six points, albeit having played one game more than the Rossoneri. 

A strong record in this fixture will give the visitors plenty of reason to be confident this weekend. Inter picked up victories in seven of nine previous encounters with Udinese, including three of their last four meetings at this venue. 

Head coach Chivu has a handful of injury issues to deal with on Saturday. Josep Martínez, Denzel Dumfries, Raffaele Di Gennaro and Tomás Palacios are ruled out while Hakan Çalhanoğlu will be assessed ahead of kick-off.
