Toulouse vs Nice prediction 17.01.2026 | Ligue 1

Since Toulouse returned to Ligue 1 in 2022, they have become synonymous with a mid-table team. They have another similar season, it would be pretty surprising if that changes in the coming months. Toulouse are in solid form with only one defeat in the last six matches across all competitions. In the previous game, Carles Martinez's team won after penalties in the cup on the road against Angers. The visitors had significantly better goal-scoring chances throughout the game, and they probably deserved a victory already in regular time. 

The January transfer window could be interesting for Toulouse. Charlie Cresswell is one of the most intriguing players in the squad, but the defender could leave Toulouse this month. According to the reports, Wolfsburg already sent an offer, while Borussia Dortmund, Marseille, and West Ham are interested, too. 

Toulouse have some problems with missing players. They will be without Emersonn, Ilyas Azizi, and Abu Francis on Saturday evening, while Rasmus Nicolaisen is questionable. 

Nice have one of the worst seasons in the 21st century. After a fourth position in the previous year, they are at the halfway point of the campaign, only four points above the drop zone. It is hard to even imagine Nice in Ligue 2, but that is a possibility at the moment. Les Aiglons had nine defeats in a row in all competitions at one point. Things seem a little better lately as they are undefeated in the previous three games. In the most recent outing, Nice won after penalties on the road in the Coupe de France against Nantes. The guests were closer to victory throughout the game, so their victory was well deserved. 

Nice's Jeremie Boga is the closest to leaving Nice. He recently had a conflict with the club's supporters and wants to leave the club. He seems to be Juventus's primary target, while Fiorentina, Napoli, and Roma are monitoring the situation. 

Nice will be without Antoine Mendy, Yehvann Diouf, Youssouf Ndayishimiye, Teremas Moffi, Moise Bombito, Mohamed Abdelmonem, and Jeremie Boga on Saturday in Toulouse. Also, Sofiane Diop is questionable, and his status will be clearer closer to the kickoff.
