Africa Cup of Nations Qualifications
The only two h2h meetings between these two teams were in November 2020, when they met in the AFCON Qualifiers and AFCON main tournament. While Tunisia won 1:0 in the Qualifiers, we saw a 1:1 draw in the AFCON.
Tanzania team overview
Tanzania are #112 in the FIFA World Ranking List and #28 on the African continent. They have never reached the World Cup and have had trouble even securing the AFCON in the past. However, there has been a recent sign of improvement, as they have secured appearances in three of the previous four (including this one). Before that period, the popular Taifa Stars played in one of 31 tournaments! Still, they are searching for their first AFCON knockout phase, having finished each time in the group phase, and are in a solid position to do so. However, they need all three points against highly favored Tunisia.
After a 1:1 draw with Uganda in the previous game, coach Miguel Gamondi spoke to the media. He expressed a mix of disappointment and pride. He thought they could have won the game, saying they played with high intensity and dominated parts of the game. The coach apologized to Tanzanian fans for not winning and said they will continue working hard in the upcoming game(s).

Tunisia team overview
Tunisia are ranked #41 in the FIFA World Ranking List and the sixth-best team in Africa. They are a team that has pretty much regularly qualified for the World Cup, appearing in the past two tournaments, and also easily secured their spot in the upcoming tournament in North America. When it comes to the AFCON, the popular Eagles of Carthage are a regular participant and have even won the competition in 2004, when they hosted the tournament. However, since then, they haven't really been close to repeating that success, even exiting the competition in the group phase last time.
Right now, they are in an excellent position to advance and only need one point. After a 3:2 loss in the previous game against Nigeria, coach Sami Trabelsi spoke to the media. He said they feel bitter about the loss, saying they could have turned the result around considering the number of chances they created. However, the coach wasn't happy with how they started the match, saying they lost too many duels in the first half.

Prediction
Tanzania won just one point in the first two rounds vs Uganda and Nigeria, but still managed to score in both matches. So, we expect them to score against Tunisia, which have allowed four goals thus far. However, expecting a clean sheet from them seems unreal because they haven't kept their net intact in eight consecutive games across the competitions.
Tunisia are a better team overall, and we firmly believe they will score at least once or twice. In the first two games vs Nigeria and Uganda, they scored five goals! Moreover, they scored at least two goals in five consecutive games across the competitions. Additionally, the Eagles of Carthage managed to score in ten out of the past 11 games.
Considering all the above, we believe a both teams to score bet is a very good option for this match, especially since the odds are very high.
4 Reasons why both teams should score
- Both teams scored in both of Tanzania's games at the tournament
- Both teams scored in both of Tunisia's AFCON games
- Tunisia scored in ten out of the last 11 games
- The last h2h game ended as a 1:1 draw
