The last time these teams met was back in the 2021/22 season when both teams competed in the Championship. That time, Nottingham were better and won 5:1 at home and 4:1 on the road. However, looking further back, in the last ten (official) h2h games, each team won four times, while two games ended as draws.
Regarding the number of goals, six of the last ten ended with three or more goals, while the same number of games finished with both teams scoring.
Swansea team overview
Swansea are playing their eighth consecutive season in the Championship. Recently, in the last four seasons, they weren't among the playoff candidates, finishing constantly around the middle of the table. However, this year, the popular Swans are doing a better job as they have won eight points in five rounds and are sitting in 7th place, just one point behind the desired sixth place.
After a 2:2 draw with Hull City, coach Alan Sheehan spoke to the media. He was absolutely disappointed, considering they allowed a 97th-minute equaliser. The coach said they had the lead for almost the entire game, but noted they did not have the game under control and allowed a lot of goalscoring chances.
For this game against Nottingham, we expect coach Alan Sheehan to play with his best squad because he already did that in the EFL Cup 1/32 against much weaker Plymouth.

Nottingham team overview
Nottingham came to this after a fantastic one in the Premier League, as they finished seventh and secured Europe. The Forest were close to securing the Champions League spot, but eventually missed it by one point. However, despite an incredible season by their standards, coach Nuno Espirito Santo got sacked. According to credible sources, there has been a breakdown in the relationship with the owners because of disagreements over future transfers. Instead of Nuno Espirito Santo, the club appointed Ange Postecoglou - a coach who led Tottenham to their first continental trophy (Europa League), but who also endured a disastrous Premier League campaign, with Spurs finishing 17th.
In the previous game vs Arsenal, central defender Murillo suffered an injury and had to leave the field after only 37 minutes. He hasn't suffered a big injury, but we expect him to miss the Cup game.

Prediction
Swansea are doing a good job, losing just once in seven games across the competitions. Their only loss came in the first game of the season vs Middlesbrough, but that one was on the road and only by 1:0.
Nottingham, on the other hand, lost back-to-back games with 3:0 vs Arsenal and West Ham, and only won once in the first four games. Yes, that was against better competition, but it's still a poor record. According to football experts, coach Postecoglou is forcing a defensive line that is too high, which isn't working as well as expected.
Considering all the above, we expect a really close match, much closer than the odds suggest at the moment.
3 Reasons why Swansea should cover the +1 AH spread
- Swansea haven't lost in the last six games across the competitions
- Swansea are undefeated at home this season
- Nottingham lost the previous two games vs Arsenal and West Ham with a 6:0 combined goal difference
