Strasbourg vs Monaco prediction 05.02.2026 | Coupe de France

Strasbourg are playing a good season across competitions. For almost the entire Ligue 1 campaign thus far, the Blue and Whites were among the top-seven teams, even spending some time in 3rd place. Unfortunately, they had a rough period before the New Year, which eventually pushed them down. Still, after that poor period, they again started playing great and are now in 7th place with 30 points from 20 matches. Besides their strong Ligue 1 campaign, the Blue and Whites also performed well in the Conference League, securing a top spot in the group stage. 

Their 2:1 loss against PSG in the previous match showed how good a team they are, since they had more xG and deserved at least a draw. After the match, coach Gary O'Neil spoke to the media. The coach was satisfied with the performance and said he was really proud of the team despite suffering defeat. However, the coach was disappointed because they created better chances than PSG but "somehow found a way to lose".

In contrast to Strasbourg, Monaco are playing a terrible season, at least by their standards. At the moment, the Red and Whites are sitting in 10th place with only 27 points from 20 rounds -  1.35 per game. That is almost half a point fewer than last year. However, a big 4:0 win over solid Rennes may be an indication that better results are coming, since this is undoubtedly their best win of the season. Still, they have significant injury problems, especially in the back, and it will be challenging to continue with good performances. 

On the positive side, Monaco did OK in the Champions League, fairly easily securing the 1/16 Finals. 

After a 4:0 win over Rennes, coach Sébastien Pocognoli spoke to the media. He was happy with a win, stressing that this kind of performance reflects their evolution. The coach said they showed maturity and balance, combining it with good defensive effort.
