On Thursday evening, Slovakian and Swedish cup winners Trnava and Hacken will face off against each other in the Europa League first qualifying round at City Arena Trnava in Trnava.
Spartak Trnava have been among the top four teams in the past six years but failed to win the title. Last year, besides winning the Cup, they finished third in the league but nowhere near the top as Slovan Bratislava left them 20 points behind. When it comes to Europe, they are not a team that often secures a Group Stage, doing that just once in the last five Qualifiers.
Hacken's results in the domestic league constantly declined since their title in 2022. This year, they are not doing a good job in the league, considering they sit in ninth place with 18 points from 14 matches - already 11 points away from the European spots. However, by winning the Cup, they got the opportunity to play in European Qualifiers. In Europe, the Wasps have had only one Group Stage appearance in club history. That was in 2023/24 when they lost all six of their games in the Europa League group stage.
Spartak Trnava vs Hacken pick: Under 2.5 goals
Spartak Trnava have been pretty bad offensively in the pre-season. If we exclude the Zlate Moravce game, they only scored once in games against Karvina, Borac Banja Luka, and Petrolul. So, if they struggled to score in friendlies, we do not think they can do too well in the EL Qualifiers against a team that has already played almost half of the games this season.
Meanwhile, Hacken have been excellent for this type of bet. They went under 2.5 goals in eight out of the last 11 games in all competitions - 73%. Also, we do not think they can do too well offensively away from home, considering they scored one or zero goals in four of the last five matches!
Considering all the above, we believe that an under 2.5 goals bet is the safest option for this Europa League Qualifiers tie.

After a training camp in Slovenia, coach Michal Scasny spoke to the media. He was satisfied with the conditions and said they did their best to incorporate new players into the system. However, the coach also noted he wasn't too satisfied with the results and that they have a lot of work ahead of them, both offensively and defensively.

The Wasps have had massive injury problems throughout the season. Two players, Amor Layouni and Julius Lindberg, recovered and played limited minutes against Elfsborg. Still, seven of the players who missed the previous matches should remain sidelined with their injuries - Peter Abrahamsson, Pontus Dahbo, Johan Hammar, Zeidane Inoussa, Jacob Laursen, Leo Vaisanen, and Brice Wembangomo.
