Slavia Prague vs Athletic Bilbao prediction 25.11.2025 | Champions League

Last year, Slavia Prague won the title in a super-dominant fashion, leaving the second-placed Plzen 16 points behind. This year, the popular Red and Whites are once again playing great in the domestic league as they are currently at the top spot with 36 points from 16 matches. 

However, their start in the Champions League hasn't been great, far from it. After four rounds, they sit in 30th place (out of 36 teams) with only two points. However, the 1/16 Finals spots are only two points away, and the Red and Whites could climb significantly with a possible three points. 

After a 3:1 win over Bohemians, coach Jindrich Trpisovsky spoke to the media. He wasn't happy with the first-half performance, but a tactical change during the half-time helped them gain control. Eventually, he was satisfied with a win but was mostly focused on their next duel against Athletic Bilbao. 

Athletic Bilbao had an excellent La Liga campaign last season, finishing fourth, their best finish since the 2013/14 season. However, after winning the opening three La Liga games this year, the Basque team isn't doing too great. In La Liga, they are in 8th place with 17 points. To be fair, they are only one point away from the European spots, but their form is far from great, having lost four of their last five games across competitions. 

In the Champions League, they only won three points in the first four rounds. Since they will face PSG, Atalanta, and Sporting CP, this is their best chance of securing three points. 

After a big 4:0 loss vs Barcelona, coach Ernesto Valverde spoke to the media. He said the match turned into a cascade of bad moments. The coach noted they had massive problems converting chances, while Barcelona were much more clinical. He also commented that their start to the game wasn't good enough and emphasized the need to improve how they begin matches.
