Sevilla will be looking for a win — one that would confirm their spot in the Spanish top flight next season — when they host Real Madrid this weekend.
The visitors kept their hopes of defending their title alive with a late win over Mallorca midweek, but their fate is no longer in their hands. Barcelona take on Espanyol later this evening, with a win enough to crown Hansi Flick and company La Liga champions. Regardless of the outcome of that game, Carlo Ancelotti would like to leave for the Brazilian national team on a positive note and Real Madrid need a good run ahead of the Club World Cup.
Sevilla have struggled to regain their footing over the last two and a half La Liga campaigns. Los Palanganas finished only seven points above the relegation zone last year and things are not much different at the moment. Joaquín Caparrós’s side did picked up a huge win in their fight against relegation when they beat Las Palmas earlier this week, and a similar performance this weekend will bring plenty of joy to their fans.
Sevilla vs Real Madrid Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
The major headline in the recent games of Real Madrid has been entertainment. Los Blancos failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last four encounters and as many games produced over 2.5 goals.
Meetings between Sevilla and Real Madrid also have a history of being entertaining. The last encounter back in December finished with six goals and only two of the previous eight finished with fewer than three goals.
