Real Madrid come into Saturday's La Liga contest in search of a third successive La Liga win after back-to-back victories picked up in February. Alvaro Arebeloa's side edged to an uninspiring 2:1 win against Rayo before a hard-fought 2:0 win at Valencia.

A difficult start to the year has seen Real lose three of eight games played in the past month, with 12 goals conceded in that period. Those defensive vulnerabilities have resulted in BTTS occurring in seven of Madrid's ten most recent fixtures. 

Despite their indifferent form, Los Merengues remain second in La Liga, just one point behind old rivals Barcelona in another fascinating Spanish title race.

Interim boss Arbeloa has five potential absentees this weekend. Franco Mastantuono, Éder Militão and Jude Bellingham are ruled out, while Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo are doubtful to feature.

Real Sociedad arrive in Madrid with sky-high confidence following their Copa del Rey derby win against local rivals Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday. Beñat Turrientes 62nd minute goal proved the difference at San Mames. 

Pellegrino Matarazzo's men have enjoyed an outstanding run of form in the past couple of months. Sociedad remain unbeaten in 11 games played since mid-December, while they have picked up victories in five of their last six fixtures. 

While road victories have been hard to come by, the Txuri-urdin are unbeaten in four of their last five away La Liga games. Matarazzo's side now sit eighth in La Liga, four points behind sixth-placed Espanyol. 

Usually a reliable choice to get on the scoresheet, Sociedad failed to score in just one of 22 games played this season. More recently, only one of their last 12 matches did not see BTTS land. 

Head coach Matarazzo has half-a-dozen selection issues to deal with this weekend. Luka Sučić, Takefusa Kubo and Unai Marrero are ruled out, while Brais Méndez is suspended. EAnder Barrenetxea and Arsen Zakharyan face late fitness tests to determine their availability.
