  • Kick-off: 17:30 UK / 18:30 CET
  • Venue: Campos de Sport de El Sardinero

An important match in the battle for promotion to the Spanish top flight takes place on Sunday evening, when Racing Santander host Mirandes for the first leg of the play-off semi-final.

Santander finished fifth with 71 points, while Mirandes finished fourth, four points above their hosts.

The hosts lost their form at the worst possible moment, winning just once in their final five games of the campaign – with two defeats and two draws. However, José Alberto’s men will be encouraged by the fact that none of those defeats occurred at the Campos de Sport de El Sardinero stadium, where they are unbeaten in their last seven games.

Mirandes meanwhile are unbeaten in their last six games with five wins and two clean sheets. Los Rojillos needed to bounce back last weekend after ending their run of four consecutive wins in their previous game, and they did just that. Alessio Lisci’s men beat Cartagena 3–1 and will be looking to replicate a similar performance against Racing this weekend.

Racing Santander vs CD Mirandes Betting Tips: Draw & Both teams to score

It is difficult to separate the two sides at the moment, with the hosts being unbeaten in nine of their last ten home games and the visitors having won each of their last three away games.

Santander's defence has been all over the place over the last few weeks with Alberto’s men shipping six goals in their last three games alone and almost the same can be said of the visitors, who have only kept two clean sheets in their last 12 games.

Racing Santander team news

Racing Santander didn’t suffer any injuries in their win against Granada last weekend, so it wouldn’t be surprising if head coach José Alberto kept the same starting line-up.

That said, Aritz Aldasoro could be dropped to the bench, having been hooked and replaced by Maguette Gueye at the start of the second half in that match.

Íñigo Sainz-Maza will be unavailable on Sunday due to a knee injury, but there are no suspensions for the hosts.
