Portsmouth come into Tuesday's Championship contest after an improved display in their 1:1 draw at Blackburn on Saturday. Connor Ogilvie's 84th minute goal looked to have secured a priceless road victory before Hayden Carter levelled proceedings in stoppage-time.

A lack of consistency continues to hinder Pompey's progress, with the hosts winning four and losing four of their last ten fixtures. Placed 19th in the division, John Mousinho's side remain five points above the drop zone after last weekend's round of fixtures.

At home, a lack of attacking firepower has been an issue for Pompey. The hosts failed to score in back-to-back defeats against Hull and Sheffield United in the past month. Three of their last four home fixtures finished with under 2.5 goals scored. 

Head coach Mousinho has several injury issues for Tuesday's Championship encounter. Keshi Anderson, Florian Bianchini, Josh Murphy, Franco Umeh, Thomas Waddingham, Josh Knight, Andre Dozzell, Mark Kosznovszky and Josh Swift are all expected to miss out for the home side.

Swansea hit the road after a well-deserved 2:0 win against Stoke in Saturday's Championship contest at Swansea.com Stadium. Top scorer Zan Vipotnik opened the scoring in the second half before Liam Cullen's stoppage-time goal secured the points for the Swans.

Despite boasting the fourth-best home record in the division, Swansea have struggled badly on the road. Vítor Matos’s side have managed just four away wins this season, leaving them with the 22nd worst away record in the Championship.

A lack of quality in the final third continues to undermine the Swans hopes of Championship promotion. Matos's men scored just 14 goals in their last 17 away league fixtures. 

The Portuguese boss has two confirmed absentees this week. Adam Idah remains on the sidelines along with Zeidane Inoussa.
