Paks secured their spot in this round by finishing third in the Hungarian top flight last season, while the visitors secured second place after the play-offs in the 2024-25 Romanian Super Liga.
This is only the third time that the hosts have secured a spot in the Europa League qualifying rounds. The Nuclear Team reached the third round during their first participation in the 2011–12 campaign, but were knocked out by Corvinul Hunedoara in the first round last year.
