Norwich vs Sheffield Wednesday prediction 25.02.2026 | Championship

Norwich come into Wednesday's Championship fixture after a narrow 2:1 home defeat against playoff hopefuls Birmingham City last weekend. Kenny McLean's late goal proved consolation only for the Canaries.

Since the appointment of former Rangers boss Phillipe Clement, Norwich have improved significantly. The Canaries picked up victories in seven of their last nine matches across all competitions. Before this run, they had won just four of 22 previous fixtures.

Impressive in front of goal, Clement's attack-minded side scored 23 goals in their last nine fixtures. Seven of those games finished with at least three goals scored. 

Despite their recent revival, Norwich remain only six points above the drop zone. 

Head coach Clement remains unable to call on several first-team players. Jakov Medic, Harry Amass, Gabriel Forsyth, Pelle Mattsson, Mirko Topic, Amankwah Forson, Ante Crnac, Oscar Schwartau and Jovon Makama are all expected to miss out this week.

Sheffield Wednesday make the trip to Carrow Road after their relegation to League One was confirmed last weekend. The Owls fell to a 2-1 defeat against local rivals Sheffield United, a result that added further salt to the wounds of what has been a deeply disappointing season.

Henrik Pedersen’s dismally out-of-form side have now lost each of their last 11 Championship fixtures. The Owls have not won since a 2-0 victory at Portsmouth in September, a barren run stretching back 29 matches.

Defensively fragile, Pedersen’s side have conceded close to two goals per game on the road this season, and they look set to struggle again this week against a much-improved home side.

Sheffield Wednesday have further selection concerns within an already thin squad, after Gabriel Otegbayo was sent off and Liam Cooper picked up an injury in Sunday’s defeat to Sheffield United.

Both defenders are unavailable here, while Pierce Charles, Murphy Cooper, Max Lowe, Dominic Iorfa, Ernie Weaver, Nathaniel Chalobah and George Brown are also sidelined through injury.
