- Venue: St. James' Park (Newcastle)
The Premier League is slowly coming to an end. While the title and the relegation spots are decided, the European spots are still up for grabs. Two teams heavily invested in securing the Champions League, Newcastle and Chelsea, will face off at St. James' Park in Newcastle.
Newcastle have already secured the Carabao Cup this season, and if they go on to secure a top-five finish and the Champions League next season, this season will have to be considered a massive success. Right now, they are in fourth place with 63 points, just two points away from dropping to sixth place. Unfortunately, the Magpies will not have an easy job as they will face Arsenal and Everton after the Chelsea game.
Chelsea are slowly improving and are in a position to win one title this year after reaching the finals in the Conference League against Real Betis. Maybe they are not still a Premier League title contender, but the progress of this young squad is evident. Still, their season is very dependent on the remaining games because they must secure a top-five finish and a Champions League appearance next year. The Blues are in fifth place, on a level with points with their next opponent, Newcastle. After the Magpies, the Blues will face off against Manchester United and Nottingham.
Newcastle vs Chelsea pick: Over 2.5 goals
Newcastle have mostly played high-scoring games lately, as they were over 2.5 goals in seven of the last eight games. They are in solid form and did well offensively, especially at home, where they won four in a row and six of the previous seven matches. During that seven-game stretch, they scored 21 goals - three per game. So, it is fair to expect another good offensive performance.
Chelsea are on a great five-game winning streak while scoring 11 goals - 2.2 per game. Mostly due to an excellent offense, the Blues were over 2.5 goals in three of those five matches. If we look further back, we can see they went over the 2.5 goals line in six of the last eight matches - 75%.
In the previous five h2h games, we saw three or more goals on four occasions. Even when they failed to go over this line (in the Carabao Cup), we saw a 2:0 win for Newcastle, but Chelsea definitely deserved to score at least once or twice. So, just with a little luck, we could see these teams going over 2.5 goals five consecutive times.
Considering all the above, we expect another high-scoring game, most likely with both teams scoring.

Newcastle team news
According to credible sources, assistant manager Jason Tindall will be back on the bench against Chelsea after serving a touchline ban due to collecting a third yellow card previously. The assistant has been crucial for the Magpies this season when Howe missed games due to illness.
Lewis Hall, Matt Targett, Jamaal Lascelles, and Joelinton should remain sidelined with their injuries, while Fabian Schar and Kieran Trippier are questionable with minor injuries.

Chelsea team news
In the previous game against Djurgarden, in the Conference League Semi-Finals, coach Enzo Maresca heavily rotated the squad to keep his key players fresh for the PL.
When it comes to injuries, the players who missed the previous games should remain sidelined - Wesley Fofana, Omari Kellyman, Christopher Nkunku, Marc Guiu Paz, and Aaron Anselmino. Meanwhile, Mykhailo Mudryk will remain sidelined due to a doping ban.
