Marseille vs Auxerre prediction 13.03.2026 | Ligue 1

Marseille had a good first part of the season, but in 2026, the Olympians haven't been at the expected level. They suffered elimination from the Champions League, which eventually resulted in coach De Zerbi leaving the club. However, they had a chance to improve the overall picture of the season with a Cup title, especially since PSG suffered an unexpected elimination by Paris FC. Unfortunately, the Olympians were knocked out of the Coupe de France Quarter Finals by Toulouse. After their elimination last week, Marseille bounced back with a league win against the same opponent. Now, after 25 rounds in Ligue 1, Marseille are 3rd with 46 points, but on a level with 4th-placed Lyon. 

After a 1:0, coach Habib Beye spoke to the media. He praised the team after an important victory, especially after suffering elimination from the Cup by the same opponent. The coach noted it was a collective effort by the squad. 

Auxerre came into this season after a really good one previously. This year, it became obvious from the start that they could have problems surviving. After 25 rounds, they are in 16th place with a mere 19 points and are five points away from the safe zone. With their backs against the wall, they started playing a bit better and lost just once in the past six games. Even though the overall season has been pretty bad thus far, they are still in a solid position to avoid relegation.

Striker Lassine Sinayoko will serve his one-game suspension after collecting his sixth yellow card earlier. He scored six goals and assisted on three, contributing to 47% of Auxerre's league goals! His absence could be a massive factor. 

Moreover, the players who missed the previous games with injuries should remain sidelined - Lasso Coulibaly, Oussama El Azzouzi, Romain Faivre, and Telli Siwe.
