Malaga continue their pursuit of top-flight promotion in Spain when they take on Leganes on Saturday evening.
The hosts come into this fixture with plenty of confidence after a commanding win at Cadiz last weekend, while Leganes return to La Liga 2 business following a high-scoring win against Ceuta.
Leganes have had the better of recent encounters between these sides, but will need to improve their performances on the road to secure a positive result at La Rosaleda this weekend.

Malaga team overview
Malaga return to La Rosaleda in high spirits after an excellent 3:0 win at Cadiz last weekend. In-form forward Chupete bagged a brace for the third successive fixture as Juan Funes’s men picked up a deserved road victory.
Los Boquerones have found some excellent form in recent months, with 11 victories recorded from 14 games played since mid-December. Particularly strong in home fixtures, Malaga picked up full points in six of seven previous La Liga games at La Rosaleda.
Goals could be on the cards at La Rosaleda this weekend. Malaga have seen a minimum of three goals scored in seven of their last nine fixtures, including a dramatic 5:3 win against Huesca in their most recent home fixture.
Head coach Funes has four confirmed absentees for Saturday's La Liga 2 fixture. Ramón Enriquez is sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury and is not expected back until March 2026, while Alex Pastor is also ruled out with torn knee ligaments until the end of the season.
Luismi Sanchez remains unavailable after suffering a midfacial fracture, while Carlos Dotor is another absentee in midfield.

Leganes team overview
Leganes make the trip to Malaga after a morale-boosting 5:2 win against Ceuta last weekend. A stoppage-time brace from Gonzalo Melero put the seal on a dominant victory for Igor Oca’s side.
Before that important victory, Leganes had suffered defeats in four of their previous six La Liga 2 matches, with all four losses coming on the road.
Now up to 17th in the division after last weekend’s win, Los Pepineros sit six points clear of the drop zone.
While not as consistent in the goal markets as their hosts, Leganes have seen over 2.5 goals in three of their last four away fixtures, including last weekend’s high-scoring win against Ceuta.
Head coach Oca could make one or two changes to his starting XI. Gonzalo Melero is pushing for a recall after scoring twice against Ceuta, despite only entering the field in the 87th minute.
