Lithuania never played in a major tournament, and that is unlikely to change any time soon. Even in that match, Jankauskas' team didn't dominate, but their excellent efficiency was enough for victory this time.

Lithuania's head coach, Edgaras Jankauskas, was very pleased with the victory against Moldova. He said, "A difficult match, it wasn't easy. It's good that we managed to score goals; we are happy with the result, but the game can always be better. There were good parts, there were more difficult ones, it's like a stone falls from our hearts, now we continue the process and look further."

Lithuania have big problems in offense. Two goals scored on Thursday in Moldova are their only two in the last four matches.

Georgian football has been on the rise in recent years. In 2024, they achieved their biggest success with their appearance at the European Championship. However, Georgia followed that outstanding achievement with significantly weaker World Cup qualifications. They finished with only three points from six matches and never had a real chance of competing against teams like Spain and Turkey. Georgia are currently in a run of five games without victory. In the previous match, Willy Sagnol's team played 2-2 at home in a friendly against Israel. 

After a draw against Israel, Georgia didn't impress. However, the head coach, Willy Sagnol, said that he was satisfied with the first half of the game. 

Georgia have had huge problems in defense recently. They have conceded at least two goals in every one of the previous five games. Now, the team will travel to Kaunas to play against one of the weakest attacking sides in Europe, and conceding against them could be another worrying sign.
