These teams last met (in official games) in the 2021/22 season when both teams won their home games - Levante 2:0 and Villarreal 5:0. Looking further back, in the past ten official h2h games, Levante secured two and Villarreal six victories.
Regarding the number of goals, five of those ten h2h games ended with three or more goals, while both teams scored in six of them.
Levante team overview
Levante returned to La Liga last season after three years in La Liga 2. Their only goal for this season is to somehow secure survival, but that doesn't look likely at the moment. After 23 rounds, the popular Frogs are 19th with only 18 points - already seven points away from the safe zone. However, a coaching change in mid-December has proven to be a good move, and the Frogs were on a bit of a rise before losing the last two games against Athletic Bilbao and Valencia. So, despite their improvement under the new head coach, Levante will have a hard time escaping the relegation zone. At the moment, the bookies see them as the second-favorite for relegation, with odds ranging from 1.4 to 1.45.
In the last game against Valencia, the Frogs not only lost but also lost two key midfielders. Pablo Martinez Andres suffered an injury, and Kervin Arriaga received a red card and will serve his one-game suspension. Additionally, Ugo Raghouber and Roger Brugue should remain sidelined with their injuries.

Villarreal team overview
Villarreal have been one of the better Spanish teams, qualifying for Europe pretty much constantly. This season, the Yellow Submarine started brilliantly in La Liga but have slowed down significantly in recent weeks. Still, thanks to that strong opening, Villarreal remain third with 45 points from 23 matches and are in a very comfortable position to secure a Champions League spot for next season.
In contrast, their Champions League campaign has been a disaster, as they finished 35th out of 36 teams with just one point from eight matches.
According to credible sources, Gerard Moreno could miss his second game in a row after feeling muscle discomfort during the warm-up for the Getafe game. The experienced forward has been amazing this season, scoring seven goals in 12 La Liga appearances, and his (potential) absence could definitely be a factor. In addition, the players who missed the previous matches are expected to remain sidelined: Thomas Partey, Willy Kambwala, Alfonso González, Juan Foyth, and Logan Costa.

Prediction
Levante had their ups and downs lately, but were pretty solid offensively, scoring at least one goal in five of the past seven matches. So, we believe they are good enough to score at home against Villarreal, which haven't had a clean sheet in the past 12 games across competitions.
Meanwhile, we saw both teams scoring in Villarreal's last three games. Additionally, if we take a closer look at Villarreal's games against the bottom teams, we could see them dominate and win against all teams from 12th to 20th place, scoring two or more goals each time! Therefore, we believe they should continue their good scoring trend against Levante.
Considering all the above, both teams should score at least once in this La Liga tie.
3 Reasons why both teams should score
- Levante scored at least one goal in five of the past eight games
- Villarreal allowed two or more goals in the past four road matches
- Villarreal scored two or more goals against the teams from 12th to 20th place on the league table
