Lazio returns to Rome on Sunday after a hard-fought goalless draw against Atalanta in Bergamo last weekend. In a match of a few clear-cut opportunities, the Biancocelesti will have been pleased to leave the GEWISS with a positive result.

Lazio’s inconsistent start to the Serie A campaign has delivered just two wins from seven matches. They sit 12th in the table, already eight points adrift of leaders AC Milan.

With just one win in their last five matches, the pressure is already beginning to mount on Maurizio Sarri, who has yet to inspire his side to improved performances since his return to the Lazio dugout in the summer.

Similarly inconsistent in home fixtures, the Biancocelesti slipped to a 1:0 defeat against Roma this season, and another hard-fought, low-scoring outcome seems likely this weekend. Lazio have one win and one draw from three Serie A games at the Olimpico since August.

Head coach Sarri has several expected absentees this weekend. Samuel Gigot, Taty Castellanos and Nicolò Rovella are among seven players who could miss out for the home side. 

Juventus make the trip to Rome now winless in seven matches after a narrow 1:0 defeat against Real Madrid in Spain. Jude Bellingham's second-half strike proved the difference at the Bernabeu.

Having been held to five consecutive draws between September and October, Igor Tudor's side have since lost successive road games against Como (2:0) and the aforementioned Real Madrid. 

A lack of firepower has been a big concern for the Old Lady. Juventus failed to score in each of their last three games, while they have scored just four goals in six games since a thrilling 4:4 UCL draw against Borussia Dortmund.

Head coach Tudor could make one or two alterations from the side that slipped to defeat in Madrid. Francisco Conceição, Manuel Locatelli, Loïs Openda and Jonathan David are likely contenders to earn recalls to the first XI. 

Injured trio Arkadiusz Milik, Bremer and Juan Cabal remain sidelined.
