KuPS turns their attention to cup action after battling to a hard-fought 1:1 Veikkausliiga draw against SJK in their most recent fixture at the end of August. Petteri Pennanen's first-half goal ensured a share of the spoils at OmaSP Stadion.

Jarkko Wiss's side have been in fine form domestically, picking up four successive league victories before their away draw ten days ago. Placed fourth in the Finnish top flight, the hosts sit just two points behind league leaders Inter Turku. 

Particularly strong in home fixtures, KuPS claimed victory in nine of 11 home league fixtures this season, and will be backed by many to claim a first-leg lead on Wednesday. 

While the hosts's goal stats are far from conclusive, KuPS have seen over 2.5 goals in four of their last six victories. 

Head coach Wiss is unlikely to make changes from the side that picked up a point at SJK ten days ago. The hosts have no reported injury issues.

FF Jaro make the trip to the Savon Sanomat Areena in mixed form having won three but lost four of eight fixtures played since mid July. Niklas Vidjeskog's side broke a two-game losing run with a valuable 2:1 victory at Gnistan in their most recent Veikkausliiga matchup ten days ago.

Mixed form on the road has been evident, with the visitors winning five and losing five of 11 away league games this season. 

The hosts are often involved in high-scoring matches, and we could see a similar outcome this week. All but three of their last 15 games finished with three goals or more while over 2.5 goals were scored in five of Jaro's last six defeats.

Head coach Vidjeskog is expected to name the same XI that edged past Gnistan ten days ago. The visitors have a clean bill of health for Wednesday's Suomen Cup semi-final.
