Group G at the FIFA Club World Cup features two clear favorites for the knockout stage, Juventus and Manchester City. It would be a major surprise if both teams don't secure their places in the 1/8 final phase by the end of the second round.
Juventus didn't have a perfect 2024/25 season, but they still managed to clinch a Champions League spot for the following year. Although they hadn't played a competitive match for several weeks, the Italian giants showed no signs of rust in the opening round of the Club World Cup, as Igor Tudor's team won 5-0 against Al Ain. Juventus' efficiency was on another level in that game, as they ended the match with an xG of 1.40, yet still scored five goals.
Wydad's 2024/25 season was disappointing. They ended third in the Moroccan league with 13 points behind champions Berkane. Recent form has been troubling as well, with four defeats in their last five matches, including friendlies. In the opening round of the Club World Cup, Wydad lost 2-0 against Manchester City. Amine Benhachem's team needs some points from the upcoming clash against Juventus to keep their chances for the knockout phase.
Juventus vs Wydad pick: Juventus to win and cover AH -2 spread
Juventus showed magnificent form in the opening round against Al Ain, so they shouldn't have problems against struggling Wydad, either. Juventus to winning and cover the AH -2 spread should be the best bet for this tie.
Juventus team news
Juventus' head coach, Igor Tudor, was very satisfied with a victory in the opening round. He said, "There was lovely energy between the players, that desire to work hard for one another, to run for one another. I felt that really came through, and I think the players felt that among themselves, too."
Juventus have some injury problems. Bremer, Juan Cabal, Arkadiusz Milik, and Mattia Perin are all unavailable for the game against Wydad.

Wydad team news
Wydad lost against Manchester City, but the head coach, Amine Benhachem, saw some positives. After the game, he said, "I'm sorry for the Wydad fans and the Moroccans. We wanted to make them proud with a good result, especially those who were there today. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, but at least we played with our identity."
Ayoub Boucheta and Renan Viana are injured and will not play against Juventus.
