Hull team overview
Hull came to this season after a terrible last one, barely securing survival. They eventually stayed in the league only due to a better goal difference than Luton Town. This year, the Tigers are doing a much better job as they sit in 9th place - only one point away from the Playoffs and five points away from direct promotion. Even though they are close to the top six spots, they have to be a lot more consistent, especially on the road.
After a 2:1 win over Stoke City, coach Sergej Jakirovic spoke to the media. He was delightedd with the win and was quite pleased with how well they responded in the second half. However, the coach admitted Stoke heavily outplayed them in the first half.

Middlesbrough team overview
Middlesbrough spent 15 of the past 16 seasons in the Championship, making only one Premier League appearance - in 2016/17, when they were instantly relegated. This season, the popular Boro opened the season great, but had a really bad period in November, securing just one win in six games. Because of poor performances, the club sacked coach Michael Carrick and appointed Kim Hellberg.
In the first game under the new head coach, Boro secured a 2:1 win over Derby. The coach was very happy with a win, particularly since they trailed 1:0 after the first half. The coach said they eventually turned things around after making small changes during halftime.

Prediction
Hull have been fantastic for this type of bet with four of the last five games ending with both teams scoring. Also, we saw BTTS in 13 of 18 games across the competition (72%), which is the second-highest in the league, behind Southampton (78%). Moreover, Hull averaged 1.67 goals per game - the second most in the league! So, scoring at least a goal at home vs Boro shouldn't be a problem.
Middlesbrough have also been great for this type of bet, as we saw BTTS in five consecutive games. While they haven't been great on the road offensively, averaging around 1.22 goals per game, we believe they should score against Hull, which have had only three clean sheets in 18 rounds.
Also, both teams scored in five out of the last six h2h games. Considering all the above, we expect both teams to score at least one goal in this Championship tie.
3 Reasons why both teams should score
- Both teams scored in four out of the last five of Hull's games
- We saw BTTS in Boro's last five games
- Five out of the previous six h2h games ended with both teams scoring
