Two sides not very far from the relegation zone in the Italian top flight meet on Monday evening as Hellas Verona play host to Cagliari.

Verona's four-game unbeaten run was put to the test on Monday when they visited AS Roma. The Yellow and Blues found themselves behind after just four minutes and, despite their best efforts, couldn't get back into the game as they suffered their 19th league defeat of the season. However, having avoided defeat in their last two games, both of which saw them keep a clean sheet, Paolo Zanetti's men will fancy their chances of getting something out of Monday's game.

Cagliari meanwhile will see this fixture as an opportunity to pick up three points after coming up against some tough opponents in their last two games. After a 3:1 defeat at Inter Milan last weekend, the Islanders failed to make the most of an early lead against Fiorentina in midweek, falling to another defeat and narrowing the gap to the bottom three to just five points.

Hellas Verona vs Cagliari Betting Tips: Draw & Under 2.5 goals

With both teams battling to avoid relegation to Serie B, this will be a close game and I am going for a draw.

Verona have drawn just five league games this season, but three of those came at this ground while the visitors have recorded nine draws in the Italian top flight this season.

The last three Serie A meetings between the two sides were also very close, with all three games ending under 2.5 goals, and with Verona failing to score in all but one of their last four games, the chances of an entertaining game on Monday are very slim.

  • Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
  • Hellas Verona vs Cagliari prediction: 0-0

Cagliari

Cagliari team news

Cagliari will be without the services of Yerry Mina for the remainder of the season through injury.

The former Everton man limped off with a muscle problem in the first half of last weekend's defeat to Fiorentina and was replaced by Jose Luis Palomino.

Roberto Piccoli's goal last week took his tally for the season to nine league goals and the Italian is expected to lead the line alongside Nicolas Viola on Monday.
