The new Scottish football season begins this weekend with a clash between the Premiership and Championship teams competing for the 2024/25 Scottish League Cup. In Group E, Hearts and Dunfermline meet in the first League Cup match at Tynecastle Park on Saturday.

Hearts have played just one friendly in the lead up to the start of the new Scottish League Cup season. Derek McInnes' side beat Crawley 3-1 less than a week ago to make it five wins in a row in all competitions, counting the 2024/25 season.

If last season's fixtures are anything to go by, Hearts are currently on a five-game winning streak and we expect them to record a sixth consecutive win on Saturday, as the difference in class and quality of players should be enough to get them over the line.
