- Competition: Europa League qualifications
- Date: Thursday, 17th July 2025
- Kickoff: 18:00 UK / 19:00 CEST
- Venue: Gothia Park Academy (Göteborg)
The Europa League journey started for Hacken and Trnava last Thursday, but only one team can progress to the next phase. After Hacken beat the Slovakian team 1-0 on the road last week, the Swedish side has an advantage that could be enough for the next round.
After the first half of the Swedish Allsvenskan, Hacken are only a mid-table team and will have to make serious improvements to fulfill their goals. In the last few weeks, Hacken started to play better, as they won the last three matches in a row in all competitions. Last weekend, Jens Gustafsson's team won 4-1 at home against Halmstad. Hacken had complete control throughout the game as they scored three already in the first half.
Trnava had a very good last season. They won their fifth Slovakian cup in the club's history and secured qualification for the Europa League. However, Trnava are far from the desired level this summer. They lost three of four friendly matches and then lost against Hacken in the first leg of the Europa League qualifications. Trnava needs a big improvement by Thursday and the rematch in Sweden to have any chance of progressing to the next qualifications phase.
Hacken vs Trnava pick: Hacken to win
The teams were pretty even in the first leg, but Hacken will have a serious advantage as the teams will meet on Thursday at Gothia Park Academy. Also, Hacken's form is better with every game, so the Swedish side should beat struggling Trnava.

Hacken team news
Hacken have done a terrific job this summer. They signed a few young players like Adrian Svanback and Sanders Ngabo. Both players made their Allsvenskan debuts last weekend and impressed by scoring a goal each. Although young, both players could have a serious role on Thursday against Trnava.

Trnava team news
Trnava lost in the first leg, but the head coach, Michal Scasny, still has confidence in progressing to the next phase. He said, "We lost by a goal in the first match, which is not a result we are happy with, but it can be managed. We know that they are using their artificial turf, it will be difficult. I know that we will be better than now and we will fight to advance."
