Germany team overview
Germany, a four-time World Cup champion and a three-time EURO champion, haven't been at an expected level in recent tournaments. They finished their WC appearances in the group stage in the past two tournaments and reached only the 1/8 Finals and Quarter Finals in the past two EUROs. However, in the World Cup Qualifiers, they expectedly dominated the group. To be fair, they lost the first game to Slovakia, but then went on to win the remaining five games pretty comfortably.
Several important players are missing from the friendly matches due to injuries - Jamal Musiala, Felix Nmecha, Niclas Fulkrug, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Jamie Leweling.
After a 4:3 win over Switzerland, coach Julian Nagelsmann spoke to the media. He said they deservedly won the match and praised their attacking performance. However, the coach criticized the team for being too passive defensively and said they need to improve their defense before bigger competitions.

Ghana team overview
Ghana are a pretty regular participant at the World Cup, having appeared in four of the past five tournaments. However, they are on a decline in recent years. That was especially evident in the AFCON, where they even failed to qualify for the previous tournament. And before that, they exited the competition in the group stage in 2021 and 2023. In the World Cup Qualifiers for the upcoming WC, Ghana did well, earning 25 points in 10 rounds. However, the impression is that they had a fairly easy group. After the Qualifiers, we saw them struggle in friendlies, losing all three matches to Japan, South Korea, and Austria.
Due to injuries, the team will miss Mohammed Salisu, Tariq Lamptey, Joseph Paintsil, and one of the best players on the team, Mohammed Kudus.
After a 5:1 loss to Austria, coach Otto Addo spoke to the media. He said this was one of the most disappointing results of his tenure. However, he said the scoreline was a bit too harsh. The coach also said this loss should serve as a big learning moment.

Prediction
Germany are on a good streak, winning six games in a row, while covering the -1.5 AH spread on four occasions. In the last friendly, they won "only" 4:3 against Switzerland but made some uncharacteristic mistakes on the defense. We highly doubt the Germans will do that twice in a row. They have always been really disciplined, and we expect a good reaction from them.
Ghana, on the other hand, were terrible after the WC Qualifiers, losing three friendlies in a row. Their last game was a disaster, losing 5:1 to Austria - a team that should be much weaker than Germany.
Considering all the above, especially Ghana's terrible performance against another European team (Austria), we believe the Germans will dominate and win this game by at least 2 goals.
3 Reasons why Germany should win and cover the -2 AH spread
- Germany won six in a row
- Germany scored 20 goals in the past six games - 3.33 per game
- Ghana lost three in a row while scoring one goal
Main prediction Germany - Ghana
AH1 (-2)
