France U21 vs Iceland U21 prediction 30.03.2026 | EURO U21 Qualifiers

France U21 had a really bad decade between 2007 and 2017 when they failed to secure the EURO U21 in six consecutive Qualifiers. However, in the last four tournaments, France U21 reached the semi-finals twice and the quarter-finals twice. In these Qualifiers, the "Little Blues" are looking like the best team in Group C and are sitting in 1st place with 13 points from five rounds. Now, they are two points away from 2nd-placed Iceland U21. With a possible win here, they would significantly strengthen their position at the top spot. 

In the previous game against Luxembourg U21, Saimon Bouabre suffered an injury and had to leave the field after 32 minutes. However, France U21 have a super-deep team, and that would not affect the team the slightest. 

Iceland U21 are searching for its third-ever EURO U21 appearance. And for now, they are doing a great job. To be fair, they opened the competition with a loss to the Faroe Islands U21 but then drew two and won three. However, they will have a really tough remaining schedule, and we highly doubt they will secure a spot in the EURO U21. We believe their best chance is to secure second place in the group and then look to advance through the playoffs. 

For the upcoming game, the squad will be without Eggert Aron Gudmundsson. He has been out with a knee injury for around four months, and his absence is undoubtedly a big factor. We believe he has been their best player in these Qualifiers.
