Forlì

Forlì team overview

Last year, Forli managed to secure a return to Serie C after eight years spent in Serie D. They had a fantastic season, leaving the second-placed Ravenna ten points behind. Over the offseason, Forli improved the roster, but it remains to be seen whether that will be enough for survival. That should be their primary goal, but they haven't opened the season well as they lost 1:0 vs Arezzo. Still, Arezzo were one of the better teams in the league last season, and that loss shouldn't be too discouraging.

After a 1:0 loss in the last game vs Arezzo, coach Alessandro Miramari spoke to the media. He was very disappointed because he felt that Arezzo's goal should have been disallowed due to a foul. However, he praised the team's performance, highlighting their resilience against a well-organized Arezzo defense.

Ravenna

Ravenna team overview

Ravenna have been among the best teams in Serie D since their relegation in 2020/21. They finished second in three out of four seasons, but finally secured promotion last year. This year, they started the season great, winning the Coppa Italia 1/32 Finals in the first game and then winning the Serie C opener 3:2 vs Campobasso - a team that competed in the Serie B last year.

Just days ago, on 25th August, the club added striker Stefano Okaka. The 36-year-old striker had a rich football career, playing for Istanbul Basaksehir, Udinese, Watford, Anderlecht, Sampdoria, Spezia, Parma, Roma, Fulham, etc... Even though he is nearing the end of his career, he should be a valuable addition to the team.

Prediction

Forli opened the season great, with a 3:2 win in the Coppa Italia over another Serie C team, Virtus Verona. In the second one, they failed to score vs Arezzo, but that was on the road, and we can give them a pass. Last year, Forli have been fantastic offensively, scoring 75 goals in 34 rounds - 2.2 per game. So, we believe they are capable of scoring against most teams at home.

Ravenna did great in the first two games, scoring two goals vs Cittadella and three against Campobasso. Those teams are at least as good as Forli, and it is fair to expect they would score at least once.

In the previous h2h game at Stadio Tullo Morgagni, we saw a 3:2 win for Forli. Considering all the above, we expect an exciting match with both teams scoring at least once.

3 Reasons why we should see both teams scoring

  1. Last season, Forli averaged 2.2 goals per game
  2. Ravenna scored five goals in the first two games
  3. The previous h2h game ended with a 3:2 win for Forli
