- Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CEST
- Venue: Tórsvøllur (Torshavn)
On Friday, in Torshavn, the Faroe Islands will welcome Croatia in the World Cup qualifications. There is no doubt which team is better between the two sides, but can the home side make Croatia's life harder and take something from the match? Let's break down the matchup and find out the betting option.
Faroe Islands team overview
The Faroe Islands have never played at the EURO or the World Cup, and we should be shocked if that happens sometime in the future. However, the Faroe Islands undoubtedly improved in the previous years, so they look significantly better than the worst teams in Europe.
After a solid performance in the Nations League - League C, the Faroe Islands entered the World Cup qualifications with some confidence, but after the first three matches, they have only three points. The only victory came in the previous game, when Eydun Klakstein's team won 2-1 at home against Gibraltar. The home side finished the match with an xG of 1.90, while the guests had 0.19, so the Faroe Islands deserved to record a significantly easier victory.
The Faroe Islands have some problems ahead of the September matches. Hallur Hansson, Rene Shaki Joensen, and Patrik Johannesen are injured and will not play in the upcoming two games. On the other hand, Meinhard Olsen, Joannes Bjartalid, and Geza David Turi are returning to the squad.
Most Faroe Islands players are playing in the domestic league. The player who is playing in the most respected league is Andrias Edmundsson, who played all seven games for Wisla Plock in the Polish Ekstraklasa this season.

Croatia team overview
Croatia are one of the most respected teams in Europe. They had second and third places in the last two World Cups, but the possible downfall of the generation was seen in the previous year at the EURO, when Zlatko Dalic's team ended the competition in the group phase.
Croatia are in good form in 2025, winning three of four matches. They played their first games in the World Cup qualifications in June when they trashed Gibraltar 7-0 and the Czech Republic 5-1. While a big victory against Gibraltar wasn't too surprising, it was shocking to see how easily Dalic's team dismantled the Czech Republic. With those two wins, Croatia are second on the table in the group with three points fewer than the Czech Republic, but with two games fewer played.
Croatia also have some problems with injuries. Josko Gvardiol is not ready and is not part of the squad for the September matches. Josip Juranovic is with the team but has some injury issues, too. Also, Josip Stanisic could miss the games due to the birth of his child, so Zlatko Dalic called right-back Ivan Smolcic in case Juranovic and Stanisic are unavailable.
